Catherine and Frank's wedding weekend in North Berwick, Scotland, was a splendid celebration of love and fun. Both originally from America, the couple chose Westerdunes House (a stately home partially owned by the family) in the picturesque Scottish landscape, with its dramatic coastline and historic venues, to host an unforgettable two-day event.
The festivities began with a relaxing outdoor dinner at a charming castle, where lush gardens provided a stunning setting for family and friends. Catherine and Frank arrived early to have photos and video taken on the grounds while guests were greeted with warm hospitality by a knight in shining armour and a bagpiper as they made their way through to the beautiful gardens.
Drinks were served as guests roamed the castle and surrounding area before being called to dinner.
The overarching theme for this event was boho elegance. Muted pastel colours are featured throughout the florals and table settings to give a cosy but summery feel to the event. Summer though it was, we did still warn everyone about the fact that summer didn’t mean warm, especially in Scotland! The winds certainly crept in but we had blankets and heaters to keep everyone comfortable.
A 3-course dinner was served including Scallops for the starter, rump beef fillet for the main accompanied with new potatoes and fresh salad and finally Eton mess for dessert. Guests enjoyed some welcome speeches from the family which wrapped up the dinner and then most but not all made their way over to the local pub for a nightcap to end the night.
The final prep was in motion as the wedding day had arrived. The various teams were finishing off setup and florals were arriving for the ceremony space behind the house. The back garden was adorned with florals particularly up on the stairs where the ceremony was taking place and neutral chairs were set up in readiness.
The ceremony was then upon us and Catherine was glowing in her beautiful Mira Zwillinger gown and Frank looked super sharp in his tailored suit.
Following the ceremony, the cocktail reception commenced with guests being allowed to move around the house and grounds freely while enjoying drinks and canapés.
This fully bespoke tent setup is honestly one of the best we have ever done! The interior choices for this part of the day really gave a lovely fresh but cosy restaurant feel with plenty of seating in the form of not just chairs but also comfy sofas. These were paired with different shades of green and white across the board with purpose-built walls with custom wallpaper, and panelling installed and finished with wall lights which all added to that overall restaurant feel we were trying to emulate. It was beautiful (if we do say so ourselves haha!)
During the 3-course dinner, London Essentials, our band entertained guests which really got them up dancing and enjoying themselves even with food in front of them! We loved to see this though - there was a real buzz in there!
Following all the fun that was happening in the tent, was the afterparty which moved to the outdoor area in front of the house. We had a dance floor with the couple's monogram placed on, in between both the bar and DJ deck all prepped, lit and ready for guests to dance the night away…and boy did they dance! The evening culminated in lively dancing, as everyone joined in celebrating the start of Catherine and Frank's new chapter as husband and wife.
