How to Relax with a Spa Day at Home

There’s no doubt wedding planning can be overwhelming. Especially in the final months as you’re confirming guest lists, wrapping up centrepieces, and checking off the last of your to-dos. As the planning phase winds down, it’s time for you and your partner to take care of yourselves, relax, and refresh for your big day.
We want to help you do just that, so here are some of our favourite DIY spa day recipes and printables! Enjoy a spa day with your partner or wedding party, or take a self-care day for yourself.

Also, in preparation for the big day, you may consider the benefits of hydration by IV therapy. It can be a smart move to boost your energy levels and ensure you're feeling your best in your day. You just need to find the IV treatment service near your location, for example, NYC Drip or any other reputable provider, to receive a revitalising infusion of fluids and essential nutrients. This can help you feel refreshed, rejuvenated, and ready to fully enjoy the festivities.

Prepare your spa space

Before you put on your face mask, plan where you want to host your spa day and how to transform the space. Think entertainment, music, and scents to get started. Of course, you’ll also want plenty of cozy space for lounging!
Soothing scents and soft, romantic lighting are a great way to set the mood and melt away your stress. Collect scented and unscented candles for decor, and consider what scents you want to include based on your personal preference and aromatherapy needs. If you invite others, it’s a good idea to ask their preference, too. Try lavender, lemon, or cinnamon to soothe and relieve stress.

Enjoy DIY face masks

Once your space is set, prepare your spa day essentials. Now is the best time to get your skin prepared and glowing for your wedding day. Mix the mask that meets your needs and test it on your wrist for any sensitivities. Then apply, sit back, and relax!
Matcha mask for sensitive skin:

  • ½ tsp matcha powder
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp olive oil

Honey mask for dry skin:

  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 tbsp honey

Turmeric mask for oily skin:

  • 1½ tsp turmeric powder
  • 3 tbsp aloe vera

Hydrate your locks with hair masks

In addition to your skin, you’ll want to make sure your hair is healthy, shiny, and hydrated. Try these easy, at-home hair masks to get started!
For hydrated hair:

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp coconut oil
  • 3 drops essential oil

For shiny hair:

  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

For curly hair:

  • 1 small, ripe avocado
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 2 tbsp honey

Now that you have your spa space and mask essentials ready, take a deep breath, and start your spa day! From head to toe and manicures to masks, enjoy!
